With dreams of cowboys (and cowgirls) dancing in our heads, the family saddled up for a beautiful morning trail ride with Elizabeth. Knowledgable about the island as well as delightful, Elizabeth showed us some fantastic views of the sprawling MV ocean vistas and lush landscape. Additionally, the horses were extremely well-behaved, friendly, and compliant. The entire experience was fantastic, as the birthday boy and everyone else had a great time. “Horseback riding was originally intended as a birthday present for my granddaughter, yet I was the recipient of a gift also. I can’t think of a better way to spend a glorious summer Sunday morning than to go horseback riding (on Max) with Elizabeth as our guide through a peaceful and serene conservation area on Cape Cod.  Elizabeth was prompt, professional and personable as our leader. She gave a mini lesson prior to our mounting and set us at ease with her calm manner and enthusiastic demeanor, which was contagious.  Throughout our ride she was informative and reassuring although we didn’t actually need the reassurance since, once we were on our way, we realized each of us had the perfect horse. I only needed to talk to Max and he was obliging (I wish I could say the same for my husband). This experience has created a joyful memory for my granddaughter and me; one which we shall cherish forever.  I am quite sure I will see Max again in the near future.

“My husband and I were more than delighted to have the opportunity to have a private trail ride with Esperanza’s lovely Paso Fino horses. We had a wonderful 4-mile journey with great mounts, Max and Apollo, and Elizabeth as our guide. The horses were so sweet – and I couldn’t help noticing their genuine care and gentleness for their riders. My only reference to riding is English style, so the gaited ride of the Paso Fino was an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. The horses are beautiful and so obviously loved. The trail was equally beautiful; giving us a chance to explore the oak forest ridge, which we could never have seen otherwise. We’ll definitely ride again when we visit MV and we may even plan a trip to Vieques, just to ride!

“We’ve been out with Esperanza twice this summer and loved it both times. The first was a trail ride from the stable through the woods to a nearby pond. We had so much fun we scheduled a longer ride that included a long stretch on the flats at low tide. I swear the horses loved it as much as we did! They carried us eagerly through the tidal pools and across the trails through the dunes. The horses were extremely well trained while still spirited and fun to ride. Definitely a new Cape Cod summer tradition for us!” Tracey P.
